When I became a Christian and realized what Jesus had done for me, I felt so blessed and at the same time I felt the urge to do something. I was blessed to have a wonderful husband and two fantastic kids. We live the "American dream" - nice home, cars, clothes, vacations, etc. So I started participating at church, studying the Bible, praying and wondering what God had planned for me. Then I took Discipleship I at church and it started to sink in - God had given me certain talents, the Holy Spirit gave me gifts and also the desire to use them for His glory. That's when I started thinking about my art and trying to find ways to use it for Him. I remember reading an article in which Thomas Kinkade said if his art brings people joy, then that was accomplishing God's mission (paraphrasing here). Now I'm not an artist like Thomas Kinkade - I can't draw or paint - but I love to create things. So I'm more about doing lots of 'little' things rather than 'big' things. But if it brings an ounce of joy, a smile or a warm feeling to one person, then it shines the love of Jesus, Amen!
One of the things I love to do (and have gotten some of my friends to do it, too!) is make up little tags to hand out around town. We'll leave them with our tip at a restaurant or hotel, hand them to the cashier checking us out at WalMart, bankteller, hair stylist, retail clerk and so on. Sometimes just hand one to a stranger at the mall - anywhere, anytime. I change them throughout the year - sometimes they say Thank You on the front with scripture on the back - sometimes Merry Christmas........... here are the ones I've made for Valentine's Day......
So my challenge to you is this - Think of a way you can spread a little joy, say thank you, bring a smile to someone's face today. Copy my idea if you want - that's fine with me! In a world so disconnected, so full of pain and hurt, even little gestures can make a difference. Just do it!!
Blessings,
Lisa

Thank you Lord Jesus for helping me show your love to anyone that may cross my path. I needed help with this so you gave Lisa the idea, talent and a loving heart to come up with these little tags with which to spread the love of Christ!
Thank you!
Nancy
What a great idea. I have had the opportunity to leave these tags for servers after dining out on several occasions. I think it is the perfect way to thank someone for their service and spread God's love. I have also found that when carrying these tags around, I am more inclined to thank others rather than just complain when service is poor. Thanks Mom!!! Love the valentines hearts!

I love how you've combined your artistic talent along with your thoughtful intentions...setting a great example to others. Your sweet cards will surely spread cheer everywhere they land.
Thanks for reading my blog. Work on our house is slow, but I'll keep updating!
