Heartfelt Thanks!

Becky Shander has been such an inspiration to me - both as an artist and a human being.  I've admired her work in so many of the Somerset magazines and was overjoyed when she emailed me one day about my blog and art.  I couldn't believe it and had to pinch myself!  And when my husband was going through a serious health issue, Becky would email and check in to see how he and I were doing.  Then she sent me a cheer-up package of my very own which I truly cherish.  She is a special person as I'm sure so many of you already know.

She recently posted a heart ........

..... she made up on the fly and it served as inspiration for a project I had been stewing about.  Every year our church has a Valentine dinner - it's lots of fun (games, jokes, food, etc.) and I wanted to make something for each person to have at their place setting.  Since we're talking about 50 or 60 of these items, it had to be something I could make fairly quickly and fairly inexpensively.  Here's my version of Becky's heart....................

I used old hymnal music and some red tickets I already had on hand.

The arrow sticking out is actually a folded up piece of paper with a scripture about LOVE.

And finally I need to make about 50 or 60 of them.  So far I've finished 40.....

Guess I better get busy making the rest since they don't make themselves.................
Thanks for the inspiration Becky!!

Blessings,
Lisa

Lisa, these are fabulous! I love how they turned out and I especially love your twist (the scripture on paper folded into a little arrow is so clever.) The guests at your church Valentine dinner are going to gush when they see what you've made.
